Version of 28 October 2026 · App and presentation website

This English translation is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

Your logbook is stored on your devices. This version has no user account, no public feed and no logbook server run by the developer.

1. Controller and contact

Hanif Laarabi, France. Contact for any question or request about your data: hanif1@hotmail.fr. Publisher details are listed in the legal notice.

2. Data processed in the app

DataUse
Sessions, notes, species, measurements and gear you enterBuilding and browsing your local logbook.
Selected photosCreating copies and thumbnails inside the app, without changing your originals. Imported copies are re-encoded to remove EXIF metadata.
Permitted Watch measurementsRecording profiles and durations when the hardware and permissions allow it. Timer mode produces no depth data.
Spots and optional coordinatesManaging your private landmarks. Surface GPS is optional and does not represent an underwater position.
Apple subscription entitlementsChecking Pro access through signed StoreKit transactions. The app never receives your card number.

3. Permissions and Apple services

Photo selection only covers the files you choose. Motion and location access use the system permissions. You can refuse or withdraw permissions in iOS/watchOS Settings; some features then become unavailable. Timer mode does not collect surface GPS.

WatchConnectivity transfers recordings between your paired devices. MapKit uses Apple's map services. Purchases, any system backups and the diagnostics you choose to share with Apple are also governed by Apple's services and settings. See the Apple Privacy Policy. We add no advertising SDK and no behavioural tracking.

4. Retention, export and deletion

The logbook stays on the device until you delete entries, delete the app or restore/reset the device. Archiving a session does not delete it. Orphaned photos may be cleaned up after at least 24 hours. The originals in your photo library are never changed.

You can export the logbook from Settings. Precise coordinates are excluded unless you explicitly choose otherwise; depending on the options, the export may contain personal notes and photos. The JSON export is not a database restore mechanism. System backups and copies you have already exported must be managed separately. Cancelling Pro does not delete the logbook, and deleting the app does not cancel the Apple subscription.

5. Website data and emails

This website has no form, no audience analytics and no cookies or local storage added by SpearfishOS. The host necessarily receives technical request data, including IP addresses and connection logs, under its own terms. Its details are listed in the legal notice.

Clicking an email link opens your mail app. If you write to us, your address, message and attachments are used to reply or to handle your request to join the tests. There is no automatic newsletter sign-up. These exchanges are kept for at most 12 months after the last contact, unless needed for a dispute or a legal obligation. Do not send medical data, passwords or spot coordinates the request does not need.

6. Your rights

Support exchanges are processed to answer your request and follow up on the service, on the basis of the legitimate interest in providing that support, subject to applicable legal obligations. For data held by the developer, you can request access, rectification, erasure or restriction, or object to processing under the conditions set by law, by writing to hanif1@hotmail.fr. We cannot remotely erase a logbook we have no access to. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

7. Changes to this policy

This policy describes the current local version. Any future account, server synchronisation or social feature will be announced with appropriate information and choices before it is switched on.
